I do need to update more often...

Time is flying by, can you believe it's already October? I still feel like I just moved to Foxboro and it's still summer. Life is filling up though. I have my knitting groups twice a week, Tuesday night trivia with work people and all the other random stuff thrown in. I feel like I laugh more often then when I first moved here. Lonely less often, even though there still are bouts of it. Now for catch up time!

Events:
Laura's B-day - Went into Boston to one of her friend's apartments for a joint birthday party. Had an awesome time, surprised myself in being able to be social with people I didn't know. Met a guy there too. He was an '05 WPI grad, has his life together, great job, property owner, chapter advisor for ATO. But something doesn't feel right, he seems sort of interested, just enough to make me think he is interested but not enough to step up and ask me on a real date. It's almost like he is waiting for me to ask him out! But I have already been super forward with him and don't want to just be the one night stand a few times over. He has my number knows I'm interested if he really wants to go out with me he will call! * Sigh *

Homecoming - Only went to the Saturday events. The float parade was great and hanging out on the quad was waaay more fun then I thought. There are groups of people I still feel like I'm on the outside looking into but I was still able to converse with people and have a good time. I think I'm starting to realize that this world I have in my head of what people liked and having friends is, isn't actually the way things are. That just going out of your way to be involved and talk will put me into people's minds and I have to do the inviting if I ever want to be invited. So maybe it's not too late for me. It also helped that both Leia and Caitlin texted me to make plans that weekend but I was already going to WPI. Which means I really need to call them to make plans in the next few weeks because obviously they are interested in hanging out with me and I don't want to lose that!

Metro West Yarn Over - I made it to 8 shops!!!! It was a lot of driving but I got to see a lot of the metro west area and the leaves are changing, it was a great fall day. Found an awesome bagel shop in Weston and a great bakery in Natick. Met a lot of lovely knitters, so many people in good moods having fun. Even met a follow CT native and a new friend on Ravelry! Got some yarn even though I probably don't have the money for it. Some gorgeous glittery rainbow yarn (no idea what I'm going to do with this!) and purple glitter yarn that I want to make a night time clutch out of. Some yarn to make socks for my mom for Christmas (my one legitimate purchase for the day). And another book - One Skein Patterns - Luxury yarns addition. In the Loop was great. Even though they were closing they gave me my free gifts!!! I now have my first set of Addi needles, another tape measure, post it notes, and a burlap shopping bag. All in all a great day even though I was by myself I managed to have fun and it was much better then sitting on the couch all day.

Knitting Projects:

Finished my office wrist-warmers, which are great. I get lots of compliments on them and they are nice and warm. Though they are a little thick for typing and writing I think I'll have to make a more office appropriate pair with a sock weight yarn. The only real problem is that my hands and arms are super dry! No matter how much water I drink or lotion I put on I'm still itchy. I need to find a really good lotion to use.

I started and took apart my Ireland sweater. The cable pattern was way too simple. I think I also will do a more seamless construction with the front and back panels on the bottom knitted together up to the arm pits and then figure it out from there how to separate. I think it will be a good project to bring to the fiber arts festival in November, nice and heavy on my lap at night while chatting and easy enough to do while laughing!

This week I'm making some lacy wrist bands/bracelets for Emily and Caitlin for their birthdays. So far it's great to practice bits of lace work and use up leftover sock yarn and beads.

Last week I started the berry baby hat but I messed up on the color work I think so I might have to take it apart. It also looked way too big for a baby hat so I'll have to figure that out as well. I ordered a few more harmony needles because I really like the shaper points on them.

So many projects!!!! I'll add more pictures soon, but it's been so rainy lately the lighting is terrible or at least that's my excuse :).

Ok time to get back to work........
