Finishing a sweater in a week is pretty fabulous. Only, I wish it was in my size. I am completely in love with Classic Elite's Jil Eaton Minnow Merino. Long name but really lovely yarn. It's a worsted 1-ply superwash wool, that comes in bright, saturated colors. I've used it to make a bunch of monsters, since it's superwash and super soft it's perfect for cuddly things. This was my first time using it for a sweater. My Baby Sophisticate was a present for one of the women at SnB. She is due in about a week and I made the 3-6 month size in the hopes that it would be a good fit for this fall. If her baby is anything like her, she will be tiny and it will fit through the winter. I used the purple, black and white for the body, trying to do a gradual striping effect. Then used some left over pink for the collar and button band. I had just enough and I think it gives it a nice pop. The sweater was a super easy top down raglan shaped sweater with short rows to make the collar. The pattern was easy to read and straight forward. The only modifying I did was the striping.
