With spring coming we have been able to open our windows and get some fresh air running through the apartment and it's giving me a second wind to try and get stuff done. I really want to finish the curtain project I started last year plus do mass cleaning out of random stuff I have. I'm ready for it!
In case I haven't shown these off yet, these two shawls are ones I worked on while out on medical leave:
The purple one is the Elder Tree shawl in Madtosh DK in Oxblood and the green one is French Cancan in Madtosh DK in Jade. I'm loving these for the still slightly chilly spring weather.
Between the shawls, sweaters and blankets I needed some quick things to work on lately.
I started with a quick coffee cozy for my work cup. This worked up quick in some random Noro I had remnants of. I'm also working on some elegant linen coasters for my coffee table. Trying to give myself some motivation to get a cleaned out apartment.
One of the shawls that is taking me foreverrrrrrr is the Color Block Bias Wrap. I picked up the yarn (Berocco Flicker - it sparkles!) at Park Ave Yarns in Texas while I was there. I just had the cast put on and I was determined not to overdue it so I didn't bring any yarn down with me...... Ya I think my denial was running pretty deep at this point. I picked up something big and soft on size 11 needles. But between this and my Gap-tastic cowl they are driving me a little crazy.
Another bit of happy news and another shawl is from PAX. Jeremey took me to the Penny Arcade Expo (East) in Boston for the third time and I had a blast. It's a great community event even for non-games like me. I sat in on some great panels and we played Forbidden Island. I started Zilver while I was there. Another simple pattern that is a bit boring but coming out beautiful in Malabrigo sock (also from Park Ave Yarns).
Hopefully I'm back to some regular uploads now and getting stuff done. What a good feeling, so I'll leave you with this picture from Galveston.
