Alpacas are awesome and so are bunnies!

This blog finally gets pictures!!!! Not of knitting but still of pretty cool things.

My first weekend back from Ireland (which I will hopefully update later on) I was able to catch up with an old friend and a new friend. I was super lucky that when I sent out a last minute call for knitters to accompany me to the CT Wool and Sheep Festival. Even though it wasn't the super warm and sunny day I had my heart set on, the laughing and yarny goodness more then made up for it. The festival had a ton of vendors with all different kinds of things, probably not as many vendors as the New England Fiber Fest at the Big E but more of a variety. There were hand-dyers, hand-spinners, people selling spinning wheels, buttons, beads, tons of roving in all shapes, styles, and colors. drop spindles from the glitzy to the basic, felted flowers and gnomes, and of course sheep, alpaca, bunnies and even a few goats. I probably didn't cover everything but you get the idea......... it was awesome!!!

The little guy trying to escape his baby pen had a fondness for Wendy's purse.

It was a wonderful adventure to start one of my next adventures. After looking at all the drop spindles and drooling over the ones with mother of pearl inlayed I decided on a more plain but well made and lovely spindle. On the advice of a fellow raveler I went for a spindle just up from very basic. It is well balanced and sturdy, I will definitely be placing a blanket folded up under where I spin so when I drop it, I can save myself from some dings from the stone floor. I put in an order for some Knit Picks Wool of the Andes roving, now to wait!

Until then I have tons of stash to work on knitting, unfinished projects, learning to crochet and knit continental. So many things, so little time.

For those that missed it here are some more friends:
