I'm back......

Happy New Year! Cheers to 2013 and a new slate to start on!

I was off from work for the holidays and had a nice relaxing new year. Now it's back to the grind. Starting work with a half week was a good way to ease back into it. I'm on a project that is interesting  educational, and something I'm going to be on for more then 6 months! Can't get more exciting then that.

My sweater kick is going great. I finished my February Fitted Pullover, which was a fun knit and pretty easy I recommend it. It's even a free pattern!  I'm over halfway done with Collins, finished the back, right side and almost done with the left side. I'm using the wool I got from Ireland and the tweedy texture goes great with the cable detail.  I finished my Barklet which I got hung up on last year and was sitting in the stash hiding since. I'll go into my mods and get some pictures up soon with individual posts for my finished sweaters. I really liked not having to seam anything at the end, I'm going to have to find some more top down sweaters to work on. Most likely I'll start with some Knitbot Essential patterns since I just got their book in a great kit from In the Loop. I like both the Featherweight and Lightweight. I even ordered some beautiful looking madeline tosh lace for the featherweight cardigan so I can really try out my lovely new addi lace click set. J was pretty great and gave me free rein to get myself whatever I wanted for Christmas. I really like that he doesn't try to guess because I have so much fun thinking of ideas, it's like a mini shopping spree and I get exactly what I want because I am a bit picky (big surprise huh?).

Over my break I tried not to go grocery shopping and use what I had in the apartment to keep us fed and not ordering out so I could clear some stuff out. It's worked really well. I've used up all the meat in the freezer, some of the veggies (I need to get to using more), and some of the lentil soup mix I have. I'm hoping to do smaller shopping trips so I don't end up with so much excess I throw out. I'd also like to use the crock pot more and my pyrex casserole dishes to make some meals for the freezer. Trying to go to yoga after work means I need to get better about preparing meals ahead of time. So far I've gone to a Thursday night and a Sunday morning classes. I'm also signed up for tonight's class. I'm trying to get a good jump on making yoga a more regular part of my schedule. No matter how many times I prove it, and say it and try it I know exercise makes me feel better I really need to make it a more regular part of my life and not do it in six months spurts.
