Not a bad weekend

I'm a big fan of weekends where I can get a lot done, have some fun and relax without big elaborate plans. This was one of the weekends. I started Friday by getting my work done early and heading home to start some pizza dough and try my hand at making pudding. I use my bread machine more often on the dough cycle then for actually baking bread. The dough cycle does all the kneading required and keeps the dough in a nice warm environment for rising so once I put all the ingredients in I don't have to worry about it for an hour and a half. So once I set up the pizza I was free to start pudding making. I tried using Smitten Kitchen's recipe, but I wasn't patient enough when it was thickening and pulled it off too early (at least that's what I think caused my failure). Because my pudding never set up, but stayed a chocolate milk. :( O well at least I figured out that I no longer have to deal with my whisks flying all over the place every time I put them down. The handles are extremely top heavy and normally flip the whisk out of whatever bowl I set it in. Well not anymore, I have a whisk/spoon rest that is perfect to throw in the dishwasher and hold everything upright. My quart wide mouth mason jars are the perfect size for the whisks and tall enough that they don't fly off. I feel a little slow for just figuring this out but no worries VICTORY IS MINE!
At least my pizza turned out really good. I love homemade pizza and layered on top some pesto sauce I had made and stashed away in the freezer as well as some onions, chicken sausage, olives and mozzarella. mmmmmmmm I'm getting better at making a thinner crust on my baking stone. Not the greatest picture but it was delicious.
Not a bad way to start off the weekend huh? In other news I went to knit and chat at In the Loop for some fun. It's the perfect time to get my out of the apartment over a lazy weekend. I brought a long my Collins and got a good chunk of my first sleeve taken care of, enough I finished it Saturday night. I'm more then half way thereeeee..... Ooooo living on a prayer.....  I'm hoping I can get this done before I go to Ohio in February for work. Once I have all the pieces laid out for blocking I will take some pictures. I'm loving the cable patterns and it's going faster then I thought. The Studio Donegal tweed I got in Ireland is beautiful. It's lime green with purple and orange flecks. Below is the store in Dingle I was able to get the giant hanks of Donegal tweed. I would definitely recommend Dingle if you are every visiting Ireland. It's south of Aran Islands and beautiful. The little town has a lot of great shops like Commodum. There was a weaver's shop that was selling off extra cones of beautiful alpaca yarn for super cheap. So I have a cone of fingering weight alpaca in a lilac color at home. There is also Murphy's a great ice cream place. Yarn and ice cream, how can you not think it's a great place?

Sunday we got some cleaning done, since this coming weekend is my birthday and we are going to have some friends over for cake and board games. My parents might also stop by on their way to my sister's college auditions. So hopefully the cleaning we did will last and we can finish up the rest this week. We did get the massive pile of laundry done so that was really nice.
