Monkey Wrench

My Monkey socks were going so well. They are a great travel sock, that perfect sweet spot between being more interesting then stockinette but I was still able to memorize the pattern right away which means no looking at a pattern. But alas these were not meant to be easy for me. After zipping along for a week I was already through the heel when I first went to try them on. I should have taken a picture of my poor sock stuck on my ankle. It just wouldn't budge and I almost had trouble taking it off. Usually I'm fine with a size 0 for 32 stitches for 4" but this pattern might have less stretch combined with maybe becoming a tighter knitter to insure that my socks were just too small. In my frustration I started this time around on a size 2, which is looking a little wide for my foot but will fit Jeremey's foot fine. Seems like he will get the socks he keeps bugging me for. Before leaving work I got a quick picture of my progress so far, the colors show up much better in the bright lighting then at home (the superbowl provided some great knitting time).
