All you need is love.... and socks

After writing the title I now have that one line of the song stuck in my head. My cleverness has failed me this time but at least my gauge didn't on the new socks I'm knitting. I'm still working my way through Jeremey's monkey socks, yes I said it "Jeremey's."  After turning the heel and starting the gusset on the first sock he tried them on and they fit him better then they fit me. Last night I also turned the heel on a much more festive pair of socks. After Saturday morning Knit and Chat at In the Loop, I couldn't stop staring at The Fiber Company's Canopy Fingering on display. Cheryl had some really nice color combinations: a light teal, medium teal, light grey, charcoal, cream and peach. Well it's true, pretty yarn does make me happy.  And when you can pair it with a "hot right now" pattern called LoveSocks like Cheryl was (she choose charcoal and peach). Then you throw in a technique that I have been really wanting to master, you have me hooked. So hooked in fact that I didn't let the intarsia scare me this time around. During SnB last night I whipped through the heart on the heel without any problems.  I think SnB is a magical place because I expected to have to rip it out a few times but it looked fine the first time. This yarn is so amazingly soft and pretty. Hopefully my traveling will go fine next week and between the flights, layovers and quiet nights I'll have a good chunk of knitting time and have some heart socks in time for Valentine's Day. Or worst case scenario I'll have a lot of snowed in knitting time. I will have to check and make sure my headlamp has extra batteries.

I would definitely recommend She-Knit's you tube videos and Philosopher's Wool for color work tutorials.  Maybe I'll try my Le Fluer clutch again now that I'm little more comfortable with colors.
